We have partnered with several Virginia wineries actively seeking diverse talent for their Harvest Internship positions. Virginia is home to 300+ wineries, 10 wine regions and 8 distinct appellations. As a harvest intern, you will have a unique opportunity to learn how Virginia wineries embrace elements of both the Old World and the New.
Successful candidates will gain first-hand experience with various winemaking techniques and viticultural practices. It's an exciting time to be a part of the Virginia wine community! Harvest Internships vary from winery to winery, but job responsibilities may include:
Cleaning and sanitation of work environment
Fruit processing: picking of grapes, fruit intake, sorting, destemming, crushing, press operation
Pumpover, punchdowns, rackings
Assist in bottling operations
Perform other cellar duties as needed
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Willingness to work long hours and up to 7 days a week at times
Understanding of general winemaking practices
A positive attitude, sense of humor and keen eye for detail
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Must have own transportation
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Compensation: Interns will be paid hourly and are eligible for overtime pay.
