About this Job We have partnered with several Virginia wineries actively seeking diverse talent for their Harvest Internship positions. Virginia is home to 300+ wineries, 10 wine regions and 8 distinct appellations. As a harvest intern, you will have a unique opportunity to learn how Virginia wineries embrace elements of both the Old World and the New. Successful candidates will gain first-hand experience with various winemaking techniques and viticultural practices. It's an exciting time to be a part of the Virginia wine community! Harvest Internships vary from winery to winery, but job responsibilities may include: Cleaning and sanitation of work environment Fruit processing: picking of grapes, fruit intake, sorting, destemming, crushing, press operation Fermentation monitoring Pumpover, punchdowns, rackings Assist in bottling operations Perform other cellar duties as needed
Qualifications: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis Willingness to work long hours and up to 7 days a week at times Understanding of general winemaking practices A positive attitude, sense of humor and keen eye for detail Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Must have own transportation Must be eligible to work in the United States Compensation: Interns will be paid hourly and are eligible for overtime pay. - SUMMARY Gloria Ferrer Finance Manager is responsible accurate and timely financial planning, budget development, metrics, and KPI’s, general accounting, tax and treasury functions. Reports to the Finance Director and GM with support of the FxMUSA controller. Accountable for company profit planning, working capital requirements, lending relationships, and financial controls. Oversees and understands inventories, depletions and compliance for long-term sustainability of Gloria Ferrer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monthly and Weekly Analytics development and review by department Assist with year-end and monthly closing to ensuring accurate and on-time financial reporting Support all departments in monthly review of expenditures, OPEX and CAPEX. Make recommendations to the GM and Finance Director regarding any financials Annual review of financial policies and internal controls to recommend modifying or eliminate outdated policies and procedures. Update SOP’s Assists with budget development and presents annual budget to the GM for approval. Ensures Gloria Ferrer financial policies, budgets and forecasts are consistent with FxMUSA’s policies. Serves as Gloria Ferrer representative for inquiries from outside of the company. Supports Finance Director on all audits, maintains regular contact with appropriate auditors. Ensures all financial transactions comply with the current state, federal and any foreign agency statues. Responsible for protecting the assets of the company. Reviews new company contracts, leases and legal documentation for financial liabilities. Supports CAPEX process, Conducting return on investment calculations Annual asset audit Determines appropriate depreciation of capital assets. Authorizes Finance department transactions and disbursements to parent company and its subsidiaries. Reviews and approves all affiliate and intercompany account reconciliation’s, including inventory and costing. Prepares supporting documentation for the A/P & A/R entries. Reviews & monitors accounts payable Maintains monthly updated approved vendor lists and authorized purchasers JEDOX cross trained and Support OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Fulfills Finance Director Role when Finance Director is unavailable Ensures Gloria Ferrer Cultures is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, including legal and ethical aspects Manage Accounts Payable and Accounting and Compliance Specialist, including development and succession planning. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree, in Finance or Accounting, MBA/C.P.A. preferred or equivalent; or five to seven years related experience and/or training which includes managing successfully an accounting function that had responsibility for General Ledger; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing policies. Demonstrated success in effectively dealing with staff, customers and agencies. Computer proficiency (PC) to include Internet & E-mail (use of attachments), Microsoft Office Suite. Wine industry associated software, SAP and ADP experience helpful Preferable wine industry or beverage alcohol accounting and finance experience Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to travel in a timely manner.
